About the Author
Wilson is a columnist for Cadence magazine, who operates a design and drafting service based on AutoCAD in St. Louis Park. His work has ranged from control diagrams for electrical motors to design and manufacture of instrumentation and test equipment for extreme environments at a nuclear power plant experimental facility.

A methodology for clear thinking -- "finally"

"Finally" is in quotes since this work was actually first published in 1963. I have always seen the book as one which could, or should, be used in introductory courses of philosophy, ethics, or any course's curriculum which deals with critical analysis, viz., how to think clearly. It primarily deals with conceptual analysis, an aspect often overlooked in the area of critical thinking. The basic idea being that before any discourse begins, we should first be clear about what exactly is at issue. The book itself is written in a clear and understandable manner, somewhat in a conceptual-analysis-for-dummies style. But more, it presents a step-wise methodology for doing so, with many examples and everyday applications. It's as if a conceptual analysis methodology was developed for thinking in general, extending the attempts of the earlier positivists of philosophy, logic and science, to present a rigorous methodology for analysis, but not being limited to their narrow scope of what constitutes meaningful human thought. I highly recommend this book to EVERYONE - it could be especially helpful in today's world of conceptual confusions about politics, morality, religion, science, etc, etc, etc.

An Excellent Book

I read this book about 35 years ago and found it excellent. I can't find my copy so I thought I would see if I could get it as Kindle book. I was pleasantly surprised to find that it is a Kindle book but shocked by the astronomical price for both this small little paperback and the electronic version. Is there no end to greed?
